Happy Festival Days!

Thank you all for turning out for the weekend of fun, despite the drizzles. With your help we raised over £500 which will go towards our drinking fountain fund.

More thanks

It was great to have the Bella Voce Social Club, Jazz NIghts and the Greenwich Morris dancers at our Saturday event, a huge thank you to them for allowing the show to go on during the rain!

We’d like to thank the stall holders who helped make Saturday a success: Flamsteed Astronomy Society, Improshrews,  Severndroog Castle and Indigo Star as well as our members – Gail Smith, Sandra Wheeler and Linda Wadsworth- for their stalls.  All donated prizes to the raffles. We’re grateful to our members who donated prizes: Fae Smith, Ellen Edwards, Sheila Humpreys, Karin Browne, Patrick and Sheila Waterhouse.  Members also donated cakes and bric a brac which helped in our fundraising.  We are grateful to Richard Buchanan for supplying the electricity hook up. And thanks to our faithful ice cream man, Wicked Whippy, who kept the summer spirit both days and donated part of his takings.

The fabulous Dog Show on Sunday, organised and run by Jane from Just Grooming…and More (Her salon is in Ruskin Ave, Welling), complete with professional judging, was a delight from beginning to end. A big thank you to her and her colleagues for their time and commitment and ensuring the fun. We are extremely grateful to Mobile Pet Foods who supplied the top 5 prizes for the Dog Show raffle, as well as discount leaflets for their store in Greenvale Road Eltham.  We have a few left, so contact us if you would like one.

We would like to thank Jennie Davies for stepping in at the last minute to run the tea/cake stall on Sunday, Ellen Edwards for working two days on the membership stall (and recruiting 10 new members) and Fae and Leo Smith for their work on the book stall on Saturday. Thank you also to Emma and Dot for running the tea stall on Saturday.

Libby and Kevin had been busy making dog treats to sell and we saw a large number of very happy dogs.  They have donated half of their takings to the Friends of Shrewsbury Park, so thank you to both of them.

The Management Committee worked hard to ensure people enjoyed the day, and all ran or helped on stalls or raffles, set up and took down  – so the last thank you goes to them.
