Quiz night a great success!

Our latest quiz took place on Friday 17 June at Shrewsbury House.

Another sold-out event, the keen quizzers were treated to a first-class show by Dee and Geoff,  joined by two members of the improv group, The ImprovShrews, which meets at Shrewsbury House. They were called in for the films round, when they gleefully acted out some key scenes from ‘on the waterfront’ ‘whatever happened to baby jane’ and most memorably, ‘Grease’!

Our stand out winners on the night were a team of just 2 members – trouncing all the six member quiz teams.

Thanks go to Shrewsbury House staff, including the wonderful bar team, Sonia Maloney, the ever-excellent Geoff and Dee.

We can’t wait for the next one!

Fun at QUIZ #3 ON THE HILL

‘Five Old Queens’ Triumphant at the 2019 quiz!

A fantastic time was had by all at the latest quiz in collaboration with Friends of Shrewsbury House!

Our Quizmasters, Dee and Geoff were as amazing as ever, the concluding round even included musical participation from the teams!

‘Five Old Queens’ romped home and took a yummy bottle of wine each for their efforts.

We hope we can persuade Dee and Geoff to host another quiz soon – we can’t wait!

February’s Quiz Night a resounding success

On Friday 16 February, Staff and Trustees of Shrewsbury House, The Friends of Shrewsbury House and FSP joined forces to put on a (very competitive) Quiz.

A huge crowd descended on Shrewsbury House for an evening of fun and laughter, and it really delivered. The Old Library looked beautiful, set out with soft lights and decorated tables along with information from all of the organisers, and some charities who were looking for sponsorship.

Gallant losers

The bar was busy all night providing the teams with plenty of drinks and snacks to the point where the tills were getting short on change! Able quizmasters Geoff and Dee showed true grit when taking on challenges from the floor for the rhyming pairs questions.

The raffle proved to be extremely popular with a great range of prizes from Prosecco and Chocolates to doggy treats and toys. The event raised around £300 which was split between the three organizers.

Thank you to all who supported the event.
