Refreshed after the bird walk

This photo combines two reasons to celebrate: Our new drinking fountain in use and a successful bird walk today (29 April).

Stuart Banks, an FSP member as well as a knowledgeable RSPB member, led a sunny and meandering walk through the old allotments, Dothill path, open fields and hedgerows of the Park.

Because most trees are well and truly in leaf now it was easier to hear than see the inhabitants. But we were treated to chiff chaffs, blackcaps, dunnocks, starlings, crows, robins and wrens and many more. Stuart, and another member, Robert were able to supply many birdie facts and siting tips.

It was a pleasure to have two parents with small explorers join the walk.
