It’s time to get snapping for the FSP Photographic Competition, if you haven’t already. Get out in the Park and capture your images of the views, the trees, the creatures, the park users. We need them all for judging at the Summer Festival on 11 June and the winning results will feature in the FSP Calendar 2017. The overall winner gets the cover position. All proceeds from calendar sales go towards our Drinking Water Fountain Fund.
Send your photo files – jpegs please, with minimum resolution of 2 megapixels – to fspdog@hotmail.com with the words ‘photo comp’ as the subject. We will confirm receipt of photos and give information regarding display prints to be used for the Festival exhibition.
Start the day with something different and invigorating! Join our bird walk on Saturday 30 April led by Stuart Banks, an active member of the RSPB and local resident. Nesting season has begun and there is plenty of birdlife to discover this month.
Meet at the crossroad of Dothill and the Green Chain walk from 11am -12 noon for ‘Bramble bashing’ and initiating the new hedge trimmer. Bring your own gloves, secateurs and loppers to help reclaim the circular path through the Nature Reserve.
FSP Members have always taken superb photos of their favourite seasons and views of the Park. While you can see those in the current 2016 calendar here, the following were included in 2014 and 2015 editions:
Our second Bat Walk of the year took place on a perfect bat-friendly September evening; still, mild and plenty of insects. There were also plenty of people, 51 plus a dog to be exact.
