Congratulations to Andy King for having taken the most popular Park photo in the competition! We had fifty-two entries, that’s fifty-two different and imaginative ways of looking at Shrewsbury Park. Thank you everyone who entered, and everyone who voted at the Summer Festival.

Happy Festival Days!
Thank you all for turning out for the weekend of fun, despite the drizzles. With your help we raised over £500 which will go towards our drinking fountain fund.
More thanks
It was great to have the Bella Voce Social Club, Jazz NIghts and the Greenwich Morris dancers at our Saturday event, a huge thank you to them for allowing the show to go on during the rain!

Park Maintenance this Saturday (4 June 2016)
It’s all hands to the pump – or the secateurs – for bramble clearing from 10am to 11am this Saturday.
Meet at the Garland Road entrance to Dothill. Wear long sleeves, sturdy shoes and bring your gloves and secateurs.
Watch the birdies!
FSP would like to thank Stuart Banks very much for an entertaining wander through the park on the morning of 30 April for nearly two hours. The walk was well attended on a beautiful, bright Saturday and once we got our eye in the birds appeared; everything from a long-tailed tit to a kestrel. And of course there were the local parakeets in full song.

The bird population is very active right now so get out and have a listening walk through the park yourself.
New notice board
We are also grateful to a member of the Management Committee, Ron Senkus, for bringing the carpark notice board back to life. And it will take decades for this one to go weak at the legs!

Please note, and tell others you may see, that this board and the other Park notice boards are only for Park events or other local environmental/leisure community events. Commercial advertising will be removed.
Thank you,
FSP Management committee
Enter now!
It’s time to get snapping for the FSP Photographic Competition, if you haven’t already. Get out in the Park and capture your images of the views, the trees, the creatures, the park users. We need them all for judging at the Summer Festival on 11 June and the winning results will feature in the FSP Calendar 2017. The overall winner gets the cover position. All proceeds from calendar sales go towards our Drinking Water Fountain Fund.
Send your photo files – jpegs please, with minimum resolution of 2 megapixels – to fspdog@hotmail.com with the words ‘photo comp’ as the subject. We will confirm receipt of photos and give information regarding display prints to be used for the Festival exhibition.
